Upgrade your old Diploma or upgrade from Certificate IV to Diploma

Many people trained in beauty therapy a long time ago and have qualifications that are now not recognised. You can apply to upgrade your old qualification to the latest Diploma of Beauty Therapy SIB50110

You can apply for RPL for units you have experience in but may not have a formal qualification for. Your old qualifications will be mapped to the new qualification, and you may need to complete some units to reach the new standard.

Cost is $2500 for the upgrade unit. VET FEE-HELP is available to qualifying students.

As a general guide therapists with a Diploma WRB50199 or WRB50105 may need to complete or prove RPL. Those with a Certificate IV would normally need to complete the following units:

SIBBSPA502A	Plan the spa program
SIBBSPA503A	Provide spa therapies
SIBBSPA504A	Provide stone therapy massage
SIBBSPA505A	Provide Indian head massage for relaxation
SIBBOS403A	Provide aromatherapy massage
SIBBBOS504A	Apply aromatic plant oil chemistry to beauty treatments
SIBBBOS505A	Blend and apply a range of aromatic plant oils for beauty treatments
SIBBSKS506A	Apply microdermabrasion to apply skin appearance

This course is VET FEE-HELP enabled.

Upgrade from Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy to Diploma of Beauty Therapy

If you have a Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy, you may find the better jobs are offered to girls with the Diploma. This will also enable you to enter the Bachelor of health Sciences program at Victorian University.

You can upgrade your Certificate IV by completing an additional 8 units,(normally from the list above) which can be done by a combination of distance learning and short practical workshops. Cost $2,500. Please telephone 1300 277 785 for further details.
