This unit of competency describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to maintain infection control during skin penetration procedures and to review clinic compliance with the applicable state or territory requirements. The unit is designed to provide you with the ability to identify, manage and control infection risks to clients, self and work colleagues.
WHO SHOULD COMPLETE THE COURSE:
This course is a pre-requisite for the nationally accredited course SHBBSKS003 Design and Provide Cosmetic Tattoo, and is recommended for positions such as:
Healthcare Professionals who perform skin penetration procedures
Environmental Health Officers (EHO)

Students are required to revise lesson at home, revise notes to
- Complete the underpinning knowledge assessment
- Complete a review of their workplaces compliance with Infection control policies
- Practically demonstrate their knowledge of skin penetration that involves skin penetration procedures
